Agadir is very different from any other city in Morocco. Built next to a tragedy – the earthquake of 1961 that killed 15,000 – it exhibits a totally different city culture and architecture from the rest of the country.

Agadir was, and continued to be a favorite tourist destination. Rebuilt after an earthquake in 1960, Agadir was designed by Swiss architects with minds on the future.Agadir is a fine modern city with a splendid beach stretching for six kilometers, the air scented by pine, eucalyptus and tamarisk. Again, Agadir is a European resort with a great beach and a variety of food and nightlife. Just don't go there thinking it has anything to do with Morocco.
